Christmas to New Years

On Christmas Eve, I was excited to have our own little Christmas just the two of us. First, we went on a little Christmas walk through the park. It was beautiful, even in the winter. That was really nice.

Later that evening, we sang Christmas songs, and read the Christmas story in Luke 2. Right as we were just about wrapping up our evening festivities, I started to feel achey, and a sore throat. To make a long story short, I got the flu and spent all of Christmas day in bed. What a way to spend the holiday. Tomás was sweet, and brought the presents up the next morning to our bedroom, so I could open them in bed. Needless to say, I don't have any pictures from Christmas day for that reason.

Now it's already New Year's Eve and I'm still fighting a little bit of a cough/cold/earache. Hopefully, by tonight I'll feel a little bit better. Jessica Prindle invited us to a party, and we're going to be the bartenders. We spend yesterday collecting all of the items we'll need, and testing out all sorts of virgin drinks for the party. I'm excited!

As I look back on this year, we had many ups and downs, but a lot of things to be thankful for. Tomás broke his ankle in June and is still recovering completely from that break. Being his first time breaking a bone, it was pretty bad. I, myself, have never broken a bone, and it was heartbreaking to see him in so much pain. Tomás student taught, and graduated from college this month. He received a full-time job offer from Skyview High School, and we're looking into purchasing a home currently. If all goes well, we'll be moving into a new home at the beginning of February! The future looks bright and we're excited for the opportunities that lie ahead.
